L. Censorinus, 82 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 3.73 g, 4 h), Rome. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. L•CENSOR Marsyas, bald-headed, standing to left, raising his right arm and holding wine-skin over his left shoulder; behind him, column surmounted by small statue of Minerva (?) standing right. Babelon (Marcia) 24. Crawford 363/1d. RBW 1372. Sydenham 737. Nicely toned. Struck slightly off center and with banker's marks on the obverse and light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

From the Joseph Markowitz Collection (1897-1981), brought to Israel in 1949 and kept in the family ever since.
